  IDEAS & RESOURCES LNV WIKI

Looking for ideas to use videoconferencing in the classroom? Try these...

Trying to remember how to get to the web site for scheduling your own conferences? It's here...

The Learning Network of Vermont (LNV) takes educational videoconferencing to the next level, using the public Internet to connect the videoconference rooms of Vermont high schools to each other and the world. Using a new and easy-to-use conference scheduling system, LNV members can include outside sites anywhere on the Internet in their LNV meetings. The uses of the LNV are defined by the member sites.

The original Vermont Interactive Learning Network (VILN) brought videoconferencing to Vermont's high schools beginning in 2000. Designed to work over a network of dedicated ATM connections ,it ceased functioning early in 2005 when the original support from Verizon came to an end. The new LNV uses each site's Internet connection instead of a dedicated network.

LNV 2.0 is up and running!

THE LNV WIKI IS THE PLACE TO GO
FOR THE LATEST LNV 2.0 INFORMATION

The network infrastructure of the LNV has been replaced with new hardware, new software, and many new features. We will be introducing you to these features on this web site. Please bear with us as we document the new system.

We will be changing the content of this web site to reflect the new system:

  • The links below for the CILC program are still working, as are the Tech Support and Schedule A Meeting pages.

  • The Tutorials section is closed while we update the information and add new training materials.

CILCThe LNV has set-up a content dollar bank with the nonprofit Center for Interactive Learning and Collaboration.  The CILC dollar bank allows LNV sites to access fee-based content from a variety of providers.

If your site is already working and you want to learn how to set up videoconferences, hook up your VILN Viewstation to the LNV, call other sites, and invite outside sites into one of your conferences, go to the LNV WIKI

If you want to get right to the meeting scheduling web site (iCM), there's a link at the top of every page (SCHEDULE A MTG) or click here.
